The cabin is sited on a rock ledge and surrounded by mature Arbutus and Douglas Firs, overlooking two small coves and the entrance to Sansum Narrows on Salt Spring Island. Protection against the elements is provided by a glulam timber and plank roof structure which hovers over the western red cedar planking, enamelled standing seam and corten steel exterior cladding on selected surfaces.
